About the instructor

Teal is an experienced wilderness paramedic and instructor with a diploma in Mountain Medicine and Rescue. Her background includes ski patrol, mountain rescue, firefighting, pediatric emergency medicine, remote medicine, telemedicine, and international medicine. Teal began her medical career as a ski patroller and fire fighter and technician in a pediatric level one trauma center in New Mexico. She then moved on to instruct remote medicine in the PNW and coordinate medical evacuations worldwide. She now lives in Europe as entrepreneur and is pursuing her RN. Teal also enjoys mountaineering, backcountry skiing, rock and ice climbing, and trail running.

By the end of this course you will have your recertification and you will be a much more knowledgeable wilderness medical provider. You will be ready to handle anything!


Time Limit for this course:  Self Paced

The only time limit for this course, is that you must take the final exam before your certification or grace period expires.  After that, you will still have access to the course and to any new lectures or updates. Thus allowing you to always be in the know about the newest guidelines in wilderness medicine.

This WFA focuses heavily on the critical thinking needed when caring for a patient in the wilderness as well as evacuation decision making. This course also includes printouts and downloads for your medical kit, video lectures and demos, and more.  

Prerequisites:

Recertification is only valid with current CPR certification and proof of pervious WFA certification.
