The more you know, the safer you are. And accidents can happen to anyone. This Outdoor Safety Awareness course will teach you the basics to be used in any situation. You will be prepared to handle any wilderness emergency with confidence. It may just save the life of your adventure partner or help you avoid accidents and other problems.

  • How to prevent wilderness emergencies

  • How to handle wilderness emergencies like hypothermia, heavy bleeding, broken bones, shock, wound care, and more.

  • When to call for help, when to evacuate, and what to do while you wait for rescue.

About This Course

There is no time limit for this course and it is entirely self-paced. This course will be available to you as a resource forever. New lectures will be added and updated with the newest guidelines on an ongoing basis.

Whether you are a hiker, mountaineer, rock climber, trail runner, skier, and so on, this course is for all who are exposed to the various risks that come with wilderness adventure. 

Everyone has to start somewhere. No prior knowledge or certification needed! Our mission is to create a safer and more informed outdoor community by granting access to this knowledge.


Knowledge level of this course

Wilderness First Aid. This course is a Wilderness First Aid level course. At the end of this course, you will receive a certificate in Outdoor Safety Awareness
